Bubble Waffles: The ORIGIN
The Bubble Waffle (sometimes also called Egg Waffle or Egg Puff) originates in Hong Kong. In the South East Asian country you can find this popular dish among many other street cuisine. In fact, the egg waffles have been ranked the No. 1 most popular street snack of HK in 2016. The sweet batter is cooked in a special mold. The result is a voluptuous waffle with crispy edges and soft “bubbles” which can be broken off for snacks.
At Bangkok Rolled Icecream we believe in freshness and authenticity. That’s why we create bubble waffles from the ground up and abide to the traditional recipe that makes this dish so delicious.
OUR BUBBLE WAFFLE RECIPE
First, the dry ingredients are mixed together until they have reached uniform spread. Next we add eggs and the rest of the wet ingredients – all fresh! The mixture is gently stirred until a smooth and rich texture is achieved.
Next, we preheat the bubble waffle iron and spray it with non-stick oil before adding our fresh batter.
We cook the batter until it’s all golden brown and crispy. We serve it with rolled ice cream and a topping of your choice. Curious? Experience the tasty and healthy alternative to traditional waffle today.

Bangkok Ice Cream is New Zealand’s first Rolled Ice Creamery.
The story began in 2016 when we were inspired by Thai street vendors and amazed by their concept. Rolled Ice Cream is made from scratch using the finest local ingredients.
Our Ice Cream is stabilizer-free, egg-free & has dairy-free options.
We use home made ice cream bases , we put them on below 30’C cold plate mixed with real fruits & nuts. This means we’re able to produce smaller ice molecules to make the freshest & the creamiest Rolled Ice Cream in less than 3 minutes.
We have more than 31 flavours. You can also customize your Ice Cream by mixing flavours together along with the toppings & sauces of your choice.
